I, as well was unaware that my contract wasn't with the dealership anymore but to mid atlantic finance. I started getting A LOT of calls from random numbers asking me for very private information.. I assumed it was scammers asking for personal information and would hang up almost everytime until i recieved a letter telling me that i now had to deal with and pay the monthly payment to mid atlantic!! I was never told anything and since i always hung up they were demanding me that i would get repoed for not doing the run arounds on switching everything over to them. I am not behind on payments, i am not behind on having the truck insured so why was i at fault for not filing paperwork to switch lean holders with my insurance if i was never told anything!! I am very upset and dissappointed because after i set up all the paperwork on switching lean holders and making the payments to mid atlantic they still call every other week to tell me that i still need to switch lean holders of its already been done! I HAD MID ATLANTIC ON THREE WAY WITH MY INSURANCE AND EVERYTHING WAS DONE. They clearly do not know how to do their job, it is unorganized and very rude customer service. I have had patience with these people but its to the point where im arguing with them everytime because they still demand me to do something ive comfirmed to them about dozen times!! I would like for my lean holder to be some other company fast.. Mid atlantic you Suck as a company!!!!

Mid Atlantic is a fraud

I bought a car in feb 2016 then found out after 5 months it was sold to mid Atlantic. I always made my payments faithfully using my debit card. The people I bought it from never said a word about selling my acct. since mid Atlantic took over my acct every few months they said my acct is behind. I started sending thru moneygram and found out today it wasn't applied to my acct. Now they say my acct is active repo but ask me to verify where my car is actually at. Then said if I pay $400 + dollars I can keep it. When I said I had a attorney they got really bad.

Why doesn't your report state how you requested a summary of your account and why a determination is being made you are late? Why didn't you include that here?

If you are late making payments, they have every right to exercise whatever remedies the contract contains to prevent loss of the security for the account--your car. NO sensible person is going to believe for absolutely no reason they are going to repo your car! They make the most money when you make all your payments and they collect all the interest they are entitled to under the contract.

That's an obvious fact. Don't bother...I don't work for them!

Attempted to pay off balance on car note

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Valled to get a 10 day payoff. Used a balance transfer check drawn on my credit card. 14 days later payment still hasnt cleared. Called mid atlantic, and they said check bounced. So i called citi bank, and they have no record of check declining. Mid atlantic finance cant process payments correctly. They started calling me 3 months ago stating i was a while month behind on payments. They got EVERY weekly payment, and i jave bank stateme ts to prove they cashed them on time. I suspect theor scheming to pull extra money out of innocent people. Called midatlantic to jave them waive a pay by phone fee..they refused. All i want to do is pay off my car. Now i have a bounced check fee, 2 pay by phone fees and no title. Why is it so hard to pay off my car note?

Oh my God, I experience same scam from Midatlantic..They took over my car payment from the dealer Motor Zone which all payments, was on time. No one contacted me about the switch.

Fee months later I'm hearing from Midatlantic stating I owe money. I dont understand how that happen. They sent text and emails payment successful.

Why is this company still in business. Any attorney out there wanting to take the plunge on this.

Mid Atlantic Finance Auto Loan Review from Port Saint Lucie, Florida

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My loan was sold to them without my knowledge even though my own brother worked for the buy here pay here lot that i bought my car from (so even the "account specialists" weren't aware of what loans were sold and to who). The first letter I got from MAF stated I was 11 days past due and my $106 payment was suddenly $233!!! After several phone calls and hours on hold they finally made the payment amount "right" but refused to credit me any late fees they had charged. Any convenient way to make a payment they attach more fees. So I mailed them 2 checks the first time, on a Monday (one to make up my past due and one for the upcoming payment due). Neither check was posted to my account until the following Tuesday which resulted in more late fees. So I started mailing the check on Friday, then Thursday and still my checks weren't clearing until the Tuesday after my due dates...meanwhile accruing more late fees that could never be waived. I am trying like crazy to get someone else to take this loan over but the age of my car (a 2005) and all these lare fees are making it almost impossible. We were also told by the original finance company that our payment could be adjusted to a lower amount if our income changed but we had to pay for X amount of months (I believe it 18 months) and right aroind the time it was possible to adjust the payment because our income had changed, THAT'S when our loan was sold to MAF. Now I'm researching law suits against this company and how to start a class action against them for predatory lending and collection practices. Their "late" fees have undone all of the good credit I had built when the loan was with the original lender. My brother toldme I'm not the first or the only customer who has complained about these kind of problems and the lot he works for refuses to do business with MAF in the future because they have lost customers and received their own share of bad reviews after MAF bought a lot of loans from them. I'll read and print all other reviews I can find and present them to an attorney. Hopefully I can help all of us that are stuck with this company. Hang in there and good luck to all of you!

Loan payments

ok..i bought a dodge van and they sold the note to mid-atlantic finance, and I paid it off.then ,I bought a Chrysler van.after several years of paying the note on the 3rd of the month, because that's when my SS checks hit, they,in their muddled minds decided it should be paid on the 26th of the month.i have never missed a payment as long as it was on the 3rd.all of a sudden,i get a collections call from them about this car,on the 3rd of the month.i asked them what their PROBLEM was, that I had JUST SENT their payment, and if I should ever get 3 months behind(which wont happen)THEN call me.then I hung up on them.then I called the dealer and told him about it and he said he would call them and get things straightened out...we will see.MEANWHILE,they send me a wells fargo M.O made out to them, with MY ADDRESS AND NAME on it,and said it was an overpayment when I paid off the dodge.only problem is,I DONT SEND MONEY ORDERS,I NEVER DEAL WITH WELLS FARGO,IT ISNT MY SIGNATURE,AND EVERYTHING IS PRINTED.I HAVENT PRINTED ANYTHING IN 65 YEARS.I KNOW HOW TO WRITE IN CURSIVE.so,i call them up and explain all this, and they say,ok,we'll send you a sase and you send it back.great.i send it back.S O B,if it didn't show up AGAIN,TODAY! do these people all have their heads up their *** if I have to,i will refinance the loan with a different company, just so I don't have to deal with this incompetent company.

On 5/31/15 I was sent to Express Auto Spot in Glendale, AZ by another dealership after a deal fell through. (They had me thinking I got the car; called me back and asked for a higher down payment). When I got there I was told that they could not finance a car with me because I was currently under bankruptcy. They put me under their leasing program where I currently pay $200.44 every two weeks. That is the contract I signed. About 4 months later I receive a notice in the mail from Mid-Atlantic Finance Company stating that I am now financing the car through them. My APR is 29%!!!!! I never signed a new contract to finance the car. The car that I have that was supposed to be temporary is a 2007 Chrysler Sebring and has well over 100,000 miles on it and is falling apart and it will not last the life of the loan. On top of that when I had qualifying repairs under the warranty the dealership told me that it was not covered. They have ruined my life. I feel like the only way out of this is death!!!!

Mid Atlantic Finance - 2009 Dodge Journey Car Review from Houston, Texas

I made my payment and the car won't turn on. The company keeps sending signals and directing me to different branches. Codes, signals nothing works. It's like I'm out of luck, just keep paying even though the device is faulty and won't re engage the vehicle. The account was sold because the dealership was bought out, and the new finance company is giving us the run around.

Your account was sold about 2 days after you signed the agreement. They sell the loans almost immediately after you sign the paperwork.

They probably monitor this site so they can keep up with how they can continue to fraud people.

We need to get together and take them down. Just disgusting!

RUN

I had my car loan sold to them after the bank i was going to went under. Not only was the switch unknown to me till i owed them a car payment, it took me over a month to get auto withdraws set up.

After they set up auto pay they started charging me 2.00 fee for auto pay. Who the *** charges for auto pay. I got a letter 2 days later telling me auto pay was free. After a month of trying to get the auto pay fee removed(which took proof from the bank of what was being taken out and proof of the letter they sent me) they promised it would b removed 3 months later now still getting charged.

And to add the only way they would take my loan is for a gps sysyem to b put in or they would come repo it so a loan through a company i didnt pick or wanted was going to charge me a repo. So its all said and done auto pay every month and now my car gets almost shut off every month when i am on auto pay wtf......it is now 630pm at night in arizona cant reach the bank cant reach the dealership and guess what my car is turned or disabled whatever u want to call but yet they got their payment yesterday from auto pay like they always do but now my car wont start and is blocking other vehicals in at work so i had to have it towed trust me when i say someone is getting my foot in their butt in the morning

Mid Atlantic Finance - They Disabled my Vehicle!!!!
Mid Atlantic Finance - They Disabled my Vehicle!!!! - Image 2

Before I even begin this review, I will be more than happy to provide bank statement transactions and my payment booklet to prove I was not only on-time with all of my payments, but I paid them EARLY every 2 weeks.

I made a payment this past Wednesday (12/31/2014) in my regular amount of $220.00. 01/09/2015 I went out to my car after work only to discover that they had DISABLED the ignition on my car via GPS! I tried calling MidAtlantic for 45 minutes but I would get stuck in an automated phone system look after waiting on hold because no one would answer the phone. I tried calling several times with no luck.

I ended up having to take a TAXI home from work. After I got home I emailed MidAtlantic about the situation. This was their reply to me:

Danielle Wilkinson [daniellew@***.com]

I contacted Passtime and they do not have anyone in the office today to

assist me with getting you a signal, they should have this resolved on

Monday for you. The device was not renewed by the dealership prior to

selling to us, on Monday we will contact pastime and work to get that

renewed. I will contact you as soon as I have a signal avail to enable your

device, and again I apologize for the inconvenience.

So in other words, I will be without a car this weekend and I will have to take a taxi to run errands and go to my appointments. Not only to I pay approximately $15 a day to use this car, but now I will have to pay for cab fare on top of it. I was EARLY (not late) on my payment and there is absolutely no justification for disabling my vehicle.

Not only did I ever agree to allow my account to be transferred to this finance company, they wont let me make my payments by debit card unless I was to pay a $12.00 fee through MoneyGram. I never agreed to the new finance terms with this company.

I feel I was taken advantage of and used. I've been an excellent customer for well over a year, and in the end what I get is a device on my car to track my every move, and a car that won't work now because they never updated the GPS device. Shameful.

My plan is to drive this vehicle through the front doors and into the showroom where I originally financed the car. Then I'm going to go to a reputable dealership and get a new car... and if they mention "Mid Atlantic"--- ANYTHING I'm walking out the door.

I hate mid Atlantic before they took over my loan I was never late on none of my payments they won't take my payment directly from my account because it's a debit card but since I got this car my payments have been coming out of my account with no problems they want me to use moneygram that charges 12.99 to send the money I don't think this is right at all

Guest

Sounds like an issue that was out of their control. Mid-Atlantic was very good to me with my first car loan.

My first credit of any kind. If your vehicle had a subscription based GPS/anti-theft enabled, it would have been your responsibility to make sure that was taken care of. It is not something that is generally paid for with your loan. It was not Mid-Atlantic's fault that no one was available at the 3rd party company that had controlled the GPS either.

Sounds like the customer service rep did all they could to try and help, even though there was nothing to be done over the weekend. Sucks, but all those features come at a price sometimes.

You're an *** trying to say it was the customers responsibility to make sure the GPS was taken care of. They put those GPS devices in the car strictly to disable the vehicle in the event you don't make a payment so they can come repo the car.

It wasn't an anti theft device. It was a device installed by the finance company to ensure the customer makes their payments on time.

You obviously work for his company or own it. There has been nothing good reported about this business.

You go about marketing small auto used car dealers and offer them incentives to pay a certain amount in return for taking over customer loans. I am so shocked this company has not been invesiated and shut down. My friend who is a dealer used to deal with the crroks but not anymore. All he has had is frustrated customers come back with complains , with him losing their business and referrals.

SHAME on you for posting this lies.

May The Law catch up with you soon. MID ATLANTIC FINANCE is a SCAM, RIP OFF
